Every Sunday from 10am until 2pm you will find the Marina Certified Farmer’s Market in the parking lot of the Marina Village Shopping center (located at 215 Reservation Road between Del Monte Boulevard and Vista Del Camino). The produce here is fresh and grown locally. The varied micro-climates in this area allow many different kinds of farming. The cool weather and sandy soil in our area produce wonderful strawberries. Artichokes also thrive in our coastal zone. Other crops and orchards thrive in the the warmer weather and rich soil of the Salinas valley, just a little inland. Mushroom farmers also sometimes come to the market, offering both familiar and more exotic varieties of delectable fungi.
What you’ll find varies with the season, but fresh farm produce is available at all times of year here and seasonal flowers often are available as well. For detailed information, you can check out the Seasonal Produce & Flower Chart provided by Everyone’s Harvest. In addition, you’ll find local crafts and prepared food stands ready to provide immediate gratification. Sometimes there are musical performances, and friendly conversation is a staple item. So grab your shopping bag and come to the Sunday Marina Farmer’s Market!
